Citizens are very interested in participating in the Home Composting process implemented by the Municipality of Patreon, an economically and environmentally sustainable method of municipal waste management, with the simultaneous production of organic fertilizer.

It is indicative that the existing citizens’ applications for receiving a free household composting bin have already covered most of the available stocks.

In the previous period, as the Municipality informs, two special bins were successfully distributed by the Department of Municipal Waste Recycling and Mechanical Equipment Management to the interested citizens.

The receipt of applications from citizens continues and in the next period of time a new delivery of free household composting bins will be carried out until stocks are exhausted.

Please note that given the limited number of compost bins available, only one bin per address will be distributed and priority will be given based on when the request was submitted.

It is pointed out that: a) the domestic composting bin has a capacity of approximately 310L and the dimensions of its base are approximately 80X80cm, b) the bin must be placed in contact with flat ground in order to operate and c) it must be possible to use the produced compost in the garden, trees, etc. The bins will be received by the citizens unassembled together with the instructions for assembly and use from a point to be determined.

Interested citizens can submit a relevant request to the e-requests application of the Municipality of Patras, https://ehelp.e-patras.gr or in writing to the central protocol of the Municipality (Maisonos 19, formerly Arsakeio).
