Autopsy of Tapatza in the construction works of the new Kosmio bridge

--

An autopsy on the ongoing construction works of the new bridge in Kosmio was carried out on Friday, April 26, by the Deputy Regional Governor of Rodopi Manolis Tapatzas, together with the Deputy Regional Governor of Primary Sector and Livestock Ritvan Hatzi Memet.

Work has begun on the new bridge, which will be 33.00 m long and 16.75 m wide, of which 11.00 m is occupied by the two traffic lanes and the remaining 5.75 m by the sidewalks and the bike path. In addition to the construction of the bridge, the adaptation-improvement of the section of the provincial road from the Radio Station of Komotini to the entrance of the settlement of Kosmio, with a total length of 1 km, is planned, with the additional construction of a 2.00 m wide bicycle path.

During the execution of the works, temporary traffic regulations will apply, while the diversion of traffic, when the construction of the bridge begins, will be done through a detour, which runs parallel to Egnatia Odos. The bypass will be configured in a way to allow the safe passage of all types of vehicles and will be two-way. Also, the Irish crossing through which the bypass passes will be widened and parapets will be installed, so that the height of the water can be perceived in case of severe weather.

Manolis Tapatzas assured for the smooth execution of this important project, which will overall improve vehicle traffic, pointing out that all the necessary measures will be taken for the safe use of the bypass and movement, while the works last. He reiterated once again the need for everyone to comply with the traffic regulations, in order to limit any inconvenience that may arise during the implementation of the project. What is required, after all, is the good execution of the project based on the schedule, in order for it to be delivered for use at the disposal of all citizens.
