A 43-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon at New world after a chase.
In particular, according to ELAS, at approximately 15:15 policemen in the Neo Kosmos area signaled the 43-year-old to stop his vehicle for a check, but he sped up and tried to escape.
The policemen followed him and a little further down Stromer Street, the 43-year-old’s vehicle stopped after hitting a parked vehicle. The man then tried to escape on foot but was arrested by the police, while it was found that his 10-year-old son was also in the car, who was not injured during the impact.
As it subsequently emerged, the 43-year-old had pending convictions for drugs, while he is now accused of the offenses of dangerous driving and endangering a minor.
