Why are the French asking us to lend them… anti-aircraft guns?

--

It seems that Greek anti-aircraft systems are in demand around the world. The Ukrainians are asking us to give them Patriots (but we are not going to give them so as not to create a gap in air defense), the Saudis have also asked us for a Patriot array to protect their oil wells from Houthi drones (we lent them one which support 120 Air Force personnel in Riyadh). It may not have had to fire a single missile yet, but the Saudis say they consider the Patriot array essential to their security. So we also extended Patriot’s stay until November.

Now the French come and ask us to lend them an anti-aircraft system, which they had sold us, because they say they need it for the security of the Olympic Games. In short, the French are asking us to transport an anti-aircraft battery to Paris to cover the city’s airspace during the upcoming Olympic Games. Now you might say the French who build advanced anti-aircraft systems don’t have their own for Paris air defenses. They have, but they gave several of them, the information says, to Ukraine.

They specifically requested the CROTALE NG/GR anti-aircraft which had joined the Air Force in 2003. It is a mobile short-range anti-aircraft (SHORAD) all-weather system. The system that the French will install outside the stadium where the Olympic Games will be held integrates the search and capture RADAR, the FLIR system, the fire control system and the missile launcher in a cage. The French request for the granting of anti-aircraft is being considered positively by the Greek government and let Macron not come to the Olympic Flame lighting ceremony.

“If requested, this will be done for a limited period of time and as long as it does not affect the defense of the country,” said the government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, regarding the French request.

Unbelievable: They discovered 314 well-hidden bombs in Elliniko

Not one, not two, but 314 Airborne Bombs, were detected among many more bombs and ammunition, by the TENX (Land Mine Clearing Battalion), inside the former Airport (Hellinico), “next to our houses”, says the Mayor of Elliniko in his post Argyroupoliis, Yiannis Constantatos.

The tragedy of this incredible case is that all 314 bombs, which the Germans had stored, were, as the mayor says, 2 meters directly below the former facilities of the Pontian Surmeni Union, our kindergartens and sports facilities, located within the former airport as well as next to Olympic Facilities! In places where thousands of people entered every day, adding: “Thank God, there was never any harm or explosion, while it’s really amazing how an entire Airport and dozens of Municipal and CAA facilities were operating in this minefield.”

Branch of EKPA in Cyprus

An ALCO poll in free Cyprus shows an extremely positive acceptance of the creation of a EKPA branch in Megalonis. I understand that the decision has already been taken by the University regarding the decision to investigate the possibility of establishing a branch of EKPA in Cyprus, making use of the relevant provisions of Law 4957/2022.

In fact, a Committee of Professors of the institution has been set up which is working on a plan for the establishment of the branch and especially with regard to the possibility of organizing study programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level. But why in Cyprus? The choice of Cyprus is not at all accidental, as the historical ties with the country are very long. In fact, personalities of modern Cyprus studied at the University of Athens.

Public incitement to violence

Kyriakos Velopoulos did not ask only porters and bouncers at the entrances of the churches for Holy Week, from the floor of the Parliament in fact. Rather than pushing him to make his point more palatable to a wider audience, his partial (and perhaps transitory) rise in numbers in the right-wing apartment complex is instead driving him into dangerous political rants.

This is the only way to interpret his exhortation to the MPs who voted for the law on same-sex couples not to appear in churches during Holy Week. In the same mood and the applause from a member of the Hellenic Solution of the incident with the attack on a member of the New Democracy in Kavala.

Velopoulos probably does not see or understand the isolation of these practices from the political landscape. The evolution of Golden Dawn’s thuggish behavior and Kasidiaris’ tricks with the Spartans taught him nothing. Because the public threat is an incitement to violence, just as reprehensible and criminally hellish as the Assault Squads of the Nazi formations.

In the marble threshing floor of grotesque communication

There is a question that hovers in political and press offices: How will Nikos Androulakis face Stefanos Kasselakis in the few days until the European elections on June 9? Will he succumb? say some in the marble threshing floors of grotesque communication, or will he wait for the mistake of his new opponent? Still asking, will he sit in the corner sulking or attempt a Tik Tok thing with some good jokes, cookouts, boats and me fives with shopaholics on tours?

What matters is that, as many admit, Kasselakis has already shifted some politics into uncharted territory. It makes, as his close associates say, even Mitsotakis look old. His opponents’ radars don’t scan him properly, while attacks against him seem to work in his favor. What does this mean; Is it the ability to spread the message? Or is it, they ask again in the political offices, the age that thirstily seeks the new on the curbs of social networks? It’s all these things together, although in the end they shave the groom. The same applies to Androulakis.

The orange background of French Belem

The Belem, the incomparably beautiful French three-masted sailing ship of the 19th century, was not at all daunted by the African dust anchored in the port of Piraeus. It was imposed on her and she “used” the orange dust as a fitting background as she prepares for the long journey to Marseille carrying the Olympic Flame.. Wind in your sails Belem. The Olympic Flame will arrive in Paris on the day of the opening ceremony of the Games, on July 26. Throughout its journey, it will be carried by approximately 10,000 torchbearers.

In Canada, Koutsoubas did not catch his breath

I wrote about Dimitris Koutsoumba’s trip to Canada and the USA a few days ago… The visit to Canada is over and next is New York, USA. From what I learn in Canada, the Secretary of the KKE did not take a breath. In both gatherings of members and friends of the party he spoke in Montreal and Toronto and with the associations of emigrants he met and with the consular authorities he spoke. As KKE officials comment, in contrast to other political leaders, in Dimitris Koutsoubas’s program there were no meetings with big businessmen or with various lobbies… Is this Sponda for Mitsotakis or Kasselakis? Probably for both of them.

I singled out his visit to the Greek Community of Greater Montreal where he was welcomed by Drs. Georgios Tsoukas, president and Lori Keza, representative of the board of the community, who, after taking him on a tour of the community’s premises, informed him about the rich activity developed by the Greek community, which numbers tens of thousands of people, but also about the large economic and other difficulties to maintain this activity and especially the schools of the community. The reception from the students, who had prepared a song event for the secretary, was touching to say the least!

Lori Keza, our former colleague at BIMA, welcomed Dimitris Koutsoubas saying to him: “as a mother of girls… what you said about tuition fees was very correct” and she meant the Secretary’s reference to sugar daddies, which had caused a lot of noise. The colleague who lives in Canada knows something more.
