The “Yiannis Mavrakis” tournament starts this weekend

“Heraklion” OAA in collaboration with EKASK and the Municipality of Heraklion organizes once again the “Yannis Mavrakis” youth basketball tournament, which has become an institution and takes place on Easter days. The curtain rises on the 6th tournament on the weekend of April 27-28.

In this year’s event, in addition to Heraklion OAA, which participates in all three categories, the following teams will compete: ASKISI, Deilino, Diaplasis, Ergotelis, OFI, Herodotos, Messara and Pediada. The event is expected to end on Friday, May 10 with the game “friends of Giannis Mavrakis” between TEE/TAK & S.VE.K.I. and a group of veterans of “Heraklion” OAA.

First Herodotus

Easily beating Ergotelis with 69-34, Herodotos finished in first place in the regular season of the Pancreatic women’s basketball championship. So, from now on he is thinking about the next phase where he will meet the fourth ranked Ergotelis and will look for the two victories (without counting the results of the A’ phase) that will lead him to the finals of the championship. The second couple that will claim a place in the final phase is Androgeas-Arkadi.

Scenarios for the game cards

In the city of Chania and the city of Heraklion, the seminar organized by E.O.K. in collaboration with E.K.A.S.K. and SY.K.K.A.K took place in view of the introduction of the Electronic Contest Sheet in the Local Championships from the coming season.

In the seminar, an analysis of the demo and the way of entering all the elements of the match in the Electronic Match Sheet was made by Tanya Merika, the partner of E.O.K. in matters of Judges. The E.O.K. very quickly and very purposefully exploits the possibilities of new technology for the benefit of the sport and we should all be ready to follow its pace and cope perfectly with the changes concerning our tasks.
