For more than three hours today, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Archbishop Ieronymos will meet together in Dilesi Boeotia. Prime Minister and Archbishop hand in hand after 2.5 months of frozen relations, to visit structures of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens.

This is the most powerful message sent by the Megaros Maximos to the parties of the right and in view of the European elections – they choose, as blue executives say – to commercialize the Christian faith and also to threaten ND MPs not to set foot in churches on Easter.

According to his information CNN Greece the two men, among others, will visit the Kindergarten and Kindergarten “Evangelismos Tis Theotokou” in Delesi, the Kindergarten “I Zoodochos Pigi” and also Drosia.

The joint appearance of the two men carries a high symbolism, coming just days before Holy Week, in the shadow of Velopoulos’ statements and just 45 days before June’s European elections.

A visit which aims to send a clear message to those voters who obey the cries of small right-wing parties that step on the tensions between Church and State, while it will also serve the quiver of the blue Ministers who from next week will start touring the circumference with the aim of reducing leakages to the right.

A no-holds-barred attack on the Greek Solution

Kyriakos Mitsotakis did not mince his words in the interview with Sky, describing what blue executives have been saying for weeks about parties like Niki and Hellenic Solution. That is to say, “they pretend to hold some “Christian meter” which can measure the intensity of everyone’s faith” or that they are more patriotic than others.

The belief in Megaros Maximos is that these are extreme forces and the Government’s intention is to attack them head-on in the run-up to the European elections, the glass overflowed for the Government after Kyriakos Velopoulos’ plea to blue-collar MPs who voted for the same-sex couple bill to avoid attending church on Easter.

“These are veiled threats”

Kyriakos Velopoulos insists as he says in his admonition, plea and appeal to the blue MPs not to visit Holy Temples as he states Easter is sacred and they are outside the dogma.

They are commenting on threats from the Government and on incitement to violence and characterizing the statements of the President of the Hellenic Solution as unacceptable and divisive.

“No, we are not afraid to go to Church and no one can scare anyone…” characteristically comment the closest associates of the Prime Minister, adding that Holy Week, the great celebration of Christianity, is approaching, these are days of reflection, but above all days of love, unity and solidarity and they also recall Jerome’s statements that “the Church does not take revenge but loves”.

The Government also reminds that the position of Velopoulos was blasted on Thursday by Metropolitan Dimitriados Ignatios, who characterized Velopoulos’s statements as provocative and unacceptable. “No one can talk about the Church area in this way and in fact actually urging things to be done” the Metropolitan had stated.
