More than 24,000 Academic IDs have been stored in the Gov.gr Wallet, according to the Ministry of Digital Governance.
Specifically, so far 24,058 Academic IDs have been issued and stored for the members of Greek Universities (students, teachers, administrative and technical staff, as well as the research, administrative and technical staff of research institutions).
As mentioned, the planning and development of the service was done by the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports, the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Governance and the National Network of Technology and Research Infrastructures (EDYTE SA – GRNET) of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
The Academic Identity is the seventh document included in the Gov.gr Wallet. The specific application of the Ministry of Digital Governance provides citizens with the possibility to have on their mobile phone the Police Identity Card, the Driving License, the Digital Disability Card and the Digital Unemployment Card (DYPA), the Ring Badge for free access to the ring of Athens and vehicle details (MyAuto).
To date, 2,508,670 police ID cards, 1,999,288 driver’s licenses, 39,419 disability cards, 121,414 unemployment cards (DYPA), 48,518 ring badges and 538,584 car “Envelopes” (MyAuto) have been issued and stored in Gov.gr Wallet.
