In strike are moving forward tomorrow, Friday, the workers at OASTH.

There will be no buses of the Organization from 10 am to 2 pm.

“OASTH informs the passenger public that the Organization’s Employees’ Union has suddenly decided to go on strike tomorrow, Friday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.”

The management of the Organization calls on the employees not to proceed with the mobilization and not to inconvenience the passengers.

According to the workers, the Thessaloniki Transport Project Organization has announced the start of implementation open public tender for concession of transport project to private individuals.

“Perhaps the discredit experienced by the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization in all the previous years was not just by chance, but opened the way for the re-assignment of the transport project to private individuals”, notes the Workers’ Union.

The workers declare that “trapped with the problems we are facing (signing of S.S.E., issuance of F.E.K. unhealthy allowance, etc.) to be referred for resolution in… a future time”.

They call the Administration of O.A.S.TH. and the political leadership of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to assume the responsibilities assigned to them and to provide definitive solutions and answers to the problems of the urban transport of the city and the workers.

The announcement of the Trade Union of Workers at OASTH in detail:

How long will the citizens of this city and daily passengers of the only public transport to date continue to rely on?
At a time when the city is suffocated by traffic due to the works on the ring road and the start of operation of the metro is constantly being postponed, the Thessaloniki Transport Project Organization announced the start of an open public tender for the concession of a transport project to private individuals in the amount of €646,800,000 with competitive dialogue…!!!

Various questions are raised:
Based on which transport map was the competition designed??? The last transport map for the city of Thessaloniki was compiled in 2004!!!
Do they know what is the work that the transport project providers in the city will be called upon to do after the metro is operational???
Where do the 22,500,000 vehicle kilometers and the 250 buses come from???
How is it possible that in Attica the tender concerns the awarding of approximately 13% of the transport project to a private individual, when the corresponding tender in Thessaloniki concerns over 50%???
How is it possible that in Attica the amount of the option to increase the physical and financial object of the competition amounts to 4% and the corresponding amount in Thessaloniki reaches 20%????
Could it be that the discredit experienced by the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization in all the previous years was not just a coincidence, but paved the way for the re-allocation of the transport project to private individuals??

At the same time, the employees of the Organization once again find ourselves trapped with the problems we face (signing of S.S.E., issuance of F.E.K. unhealthy allowance, etc.) to be referred for resolution in… a future time.

That’s enough. The Administration of O.A.S.TH. and the political leadership of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, must assume the responsibilities assigned to them and provide definitive solutions and answers to the problems of urban transport in our city and the workers in it.

We announce a warning stop work for Friday 26/4/2024 from 10:00 to 14:00.
