The New Democracy MEP candidate Mr. Ioannis Vezyrgiannidis made a series of contacts on 05/24/2024 as part of the pre-election tour for the European elections of June 9, 2024.

1. The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Maroneia and Komotini was visited by Mr. Ioannis Vezyrgiannidis as part of his tour of the Prefecture of Rodopi, from whom he was informed about the rich pastoral, spiritual, cultural and charitable work of the Metropolis which is inextricably linked to the 10-year presence of His Eminence Panteleimonos in our area. 2. Mr. Ioannis Vezyrgiannidis met at the Rector’s Office of the Democritus University of Thrace with the Rector Mr. Fotios Maris. Mr. Ioannis Vezyrgiannidis emphasized that the heart of Europe beat in Komotini with the contribution of ITH, as through the Europe Direct programs AMTH mobilizes citizens for the European elections and highlights the important role of the University in our region. The Democritus University of Thrace is among the largest Universities in the country, with 8 Faculties, 18 Departments and 47,000 students, and its strengthening and evolution into a development vehicle for the Thrace region that will offer not only more students, but also research for the local market, and support for environmental and development issues

3. Mr. Ioannis Vezyrgiannidis met at the headquarters of the Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace, with the Regional Governor, Mr. Christodoulos Topsides.
