BAJA GREECE 2024 – With the longest special route in Greece and safety innovations

The great sporting event will take place at the end of May, with record routes and safety innovations.

In the Race Administration building at Argos Orestiko of Kastoriawhich in less than a month will beat the heart of motor sports, took place Wednesday, April 24 its official presentation BAJA GREECE 2024.

“We now have the right to be proud that we achieved something great for Western Macedonia and for all of Greece. We are in the world cup thanks to the persistence and work done all these years. Now, we must protect our heritage and this year’s event must be excellent, so as not to give the opportunity to other countries to question our value and position in this top institution”noted the match director, Kostas Theologisemphasizing that it is the second largest motorsport event in the country, after the Acropolis Rally of WRC.

During the presentation of BAJA GREECE 2024, reference was made to routes 820 km. at mountains of Kastoria and Florinaof which the 560 km they are special routes. The race also includes a special route 165 kmwhich will be and the largest ever held in Greece.

Once again, so the leader of the match Alekos Apostolidisas well as Mr. Theologis focused on the security issues of the games, revealing that in addition to all the measures taken every year, this year will be used for the first time in Greece and Europe the e-book system in vehiclesin order to ensure the maximum security.

For his part, the host of the event, the mayor of Argos Orestikos, Panos Kepaptsogloustated:
“We support and will continue to support this institution, so that this fight goes even further, promoting not only Argos Orestikos and Western Macedonia, but the whole country, to the whole world. Mainly, because this world deserves it, despite the difficulties, lives here, guarding Thermopylae and supporting the organization all these years”.

The Member of Parliament for ND Kastoria, Maria Antonioustated that BAJA GREECE is a great sporting event that brings added value to the region, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world.

Many State and Local Government representatives were present during the event. Among them, the Regional Councillor Olga Trasiathe Deputy Mayors of the municipality of Argos Orestikos, representatives of the Authorities of the area, but also representatives of the sponsors of BAJA GREECE 2024.

In the matches that start the Wednesday the 22nd and are completed the Saturday, May 25will feature top names in world motorsport, such as its two-time winner FIA World Cup, Saudi driver Yazid Al-Razzahibut also renowned Greek athletes who deserve to represent our country and attend every year.

The program

Wednesday, May 22: Technical and Administrative control of vehicles and competitors and free trials (11:00-17:00) on a route in the village of Ammoudara, Argos Orestikos.
Thursday, May 23: Administrative control of vehicles and competitors and official trials (9:30-12:30) on a route near the village of Botani. At 17:00 the Qualifying Special Route will take place near the “Aristotelis” Airport and at 20:00 the Opening Ceremony of the race will take place at the National Resistance Park in the center of Argos Orestikos.
Friday, May 24: Special Routes with a total length of 330 km.
Saturday, May 25: Special Routes with a total length of 230 km and the finish of the race at the National Resistance Park. In the same place, the awarding of prizes to the winners will take place at 20:30.

For the successful conduct of BAJA GREECE, volunteers from all over Western Macedonia as well as the Police, Fire Brigade, EKAV and the Red Cross contribute with their services, while the organization is institutionally supported by the Ministry of Sports, the Region of Western Macedonia and the Regional Unit Kastoria and of course the host Municipality of Argos Orestikos.
