It is with great pleasure that we announce the distinction of the B2 class student of our Lyceum, Ekaterinas Nikos-Gogou, in the 11th Panhellenic Student Poetry Competition “Nikos Gatsos, the poet of verses” with the approval of the Institute of Educational Policy (I.E.P). The competition was organized by the “Panagia Prousiotissa” Private Schools and students from private and public schools in Greece participated.
Ekaterini Nikou-Gogou, a student with a high cognitive level and excellent morals, managed to get the 1st praise with the poem entitled: “Hope nestles…”
The Director and the Teachers’ Association express our pride and our warm congratulations to Ekaterini, who managed to stand out among many and excellent entries and we wish her good progress and to always be creative!

Children chased, clothes torn, dirty Bodies suffering, smiles erased… Eyes tearful…
The war took away their joy… the childish carelessness Red rain waters the earth… Not a bird, not a cloud decorates the sky A metallic beast tears the horizon. Music was forgotten in this country to come…
The gun-toting children wake up And the screams … sing them softly The devil and the devil kiss them goodnight. Hate has peace chained In the bowels of the earth imprisoned. Peace hears voices asking for her Desperate cries to beg her… Peace hears and weeps sweetly For her poor children who were left alone! But look how hope nestles in the heart…
A cackling spark Small and weak it seems… But who would imagine that even weak is enough… A flame to break out Hope to be freed, to break the bonds With other hearts to unite… to change the world!
