Participation of Hotel Employees in the 24-hour nationwide strike on May 1st

The Hoteliers Association of N Heraklion announces its participation in the 24-hour pan-Hellenic strike declared by the GSEE on Wednesday – May 1st.

The relevant announcement follows

MAY 1st IS A STRIKE!

The Union of Hotel Employees N Heraklion participates in the 24-HOUR NATIONAL STRIKE declared by the GSEE on Wednesday, May 1st.
Accuracy in basic products and energy make our survival impossible! Our salaries in the hotel industry from 01/01/2024 have reached the levels of 2011, only that in the years 2024 the purchase value of our salary has decreased by 40%.

The unemployment fund of seasonal workers remains at 3 months, condemning them to destitution and poverty in the “dead months”.
The violation of labor laws, the constantly deteriorating working conditions, the insecurity regarding the stability of their employment. they lead thousands of workers to leave the Food and Tourism industry, creating the big problem of job vacancies.

WE ARE STRIKE AND DEMAND

 UNIVERSAL IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CSCES SIGNED WITH THE EMPLOYERS.

 RESTORATION OF THE VALIDITY OF THE UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT TO 5 MONTHS.

 AWARD OF ONE TIME AT 20 YEARS OLD AS IT HAPPENED DECADES BEFORE THE KATROUGALOS LAW

 SAFETY & HEALTH IN OUR WORK.

 RESPECT FOR OUR LABOR AND INSURANCE RIGHTS.

 CEILING ON THE NUMBER OF ROOMS THAT A MAID WILL CLEAN DAILY.

 REAL WAGE INCREASE

ALL & EVERYONE AT THE STRIKE MEETING ON HOLY WEDNESDAY MAY 1ST AT THE WORK CENTER OF HERACLEIOU AT 10:00 AM.
