An inappropriate toy (slide) that remained for years in the central park of Ampelonas next to the church of Panagia was the cause of serious injury to a little boy of 3.5 years who fell down the stairs of the slide and broke his leg according to what was reported by the his parents at paidis.com.

The little boy had to be hospitalized in the clinic of the Larissa hospital for at least 15 days and according to his parents, he still hasn’t returned to normal.

The child’s father claims that he had informed the previous municipal authority and the then president of the D.K. several times. Ampelona requesting the removal of the toys from the particular park that could not function as a playground, but without anyone taking the initiative to remove the dangerous toys.

The result was that the child was injured and the next day the new municipal authority removed all the toys from the park.

According to the deputy mayor of Technical Services, Nikos Arvanitis, the competent service of the municipality of Tyrnavos has proceeded to identify all the dangerous playgrounds that are scattered throughout the municipality of Tyrnavos, and the removal of toys from these playgrounds and parks has begun.

However, we must point out that the parents of the child are aiming to take legal action against the municipality of Tyrnavos for the injury of their child.
