Two items on the agenda:
1. Approval of the amendment of the statute and the participation of the Municipality in the share capital increase of the Renewable Energy Community under the name “TRIPOLITCA 1821 COMMUNITY OF RENEWABLE ENERGY LIMITED LIABILITY” and distinctive title: “TRIPOLITCA 1821 K.A.E.”
2. “Direct Lease of municipal real estate to “TRIPOLITA 1821 COMMUNITY OF RENEWABLE ENERGY LIMITED LIABILITY”” for the installation of a photovoltaic park, virtual energy offset” (Pursuant to the provisions of art. 196, of Law 4555/2018 “Kleistheni I”).
Nouns, the only Municipal Councilor who had questions, regarding the shareholder composition – but also the composition of the board of directors of K.A.E. – was Mr. Gourgaris. In addition, he referred to the estimated power of the 8 photovoltaic parks – 3801 mw -, asking for clarifications regarding the actions that the Municipality will take.
The Mayor of Tripoli, after stating that the budget of the proposal has already been voted by the Municipal Committee, he emphasized that the 5 shareholders are all legal entities of the Municipality and are represented by their respective heads. Analytically, the shareholders are: The Municipality of Tripoli, DEWA Tripoli, the Municipal Radio and the 2 school committees of the Municipality.
Mr. Katsafanas, responsible for drawing up the relevant file of the proposal to be submitted to the Just Development Transition Plan, stated, among other things, that the Municipality is ready and the file is open to anyone to examine any details. In his second statement, he emphatically emphasized that the goal of the energy community is to cover part of the cost that the Municipality pays annually for electricity.
Mr. Gourgaris argued that the energy community can prove to be a “boomerang” for the Municipality in the near future, since, as he said, there is already an “oversufficiency” of power generation in the country, as a result of which we are heading towards the creation of “power dumps” (sic), for to keep prices high.
Recurrent, the Mayor of Tripoli he said, in a strong tone, that the Municipality of Tripoli is not going to become an “electricity trader”, but is trying to cover a part of the money it spends on electricity. At the same time, he stated emphatically that this is an absolutely “public” community, while many times he wondered why there is an objection on the part of Mr. Gourgaris.
Mr. Troupis, for his part, was completely positive towards the development of K.A.E., while he characterized this specific process as an opportunity to exploit funds from SDAM. At the same time, he argued that if an extension is granted for the submission of proposals, a more detailed discussion can be held on the matter.
Mr. Smyrniotis he also argued that the opportunity given to the Municipality should not be lost.
We should note that the Municipality of Tripoli, as mentioned, will be the first Municipality to submit, on time, the proposal for inclusion in the financing, next Monday. Even so, even if an extension is finally granted – a fact that is considered certain – Tripoli will have preceded all the other interested municipalities. Let’s remember that the program has a “competitive” nature.
In the end, Mr. Gourgaris was the only one who voted “against”.
