Kostas Zaltos had a pretty good presence in his last race on American soil before returning to Greece for the summer season.

The Greek hammer thrower competed at dawn in Minnesota, where with a throw of 73.29m. won first place in the meet. Zalto’s goal is to participate in the European championship in Rome and he shows that he is capable of achieving it. The Greek champion still had valid throws at 68.89m, 72.32m, 71.68m. and 71.88m, while his performance was close to this year’s record (73.86m).

The athlete will be in Greece at Easter, in order to continue his competitions and improve his position in the ranking. The thrower from Kilkis is currently out of qualification for the Rome event, however both his victory in today’s event and the points he will be chasing in his next matches are capable of changing his place.

Zaltos will play its next match at the Alexandria meeting in Alexandria Imathia on May 8. The level of the competition will be particularly high, as Christos Franzeskakis will compete among others, in a year where the Greek athletes of the competition have shown in excellent condition. The fact that nine athletes have already achieved performances over 70.00m is also characteristic. and five over 73.00 meters.

Angelos Manzouranis also participated in the Gary Wilson Invitational in Minnesota, who finished his match with three bogeys.
