They are outraged the court officials from the behavior they encountered during their visit to the Ministry of Justice. As the Federation of Judicial Officers of Greece (ODYE) complains, it received a “verbal-abusive attack on behalf of the ‘self-proclaimed’ Security Officer of the Ministry of Justice”.
In particular, according to the Federation a few days ago, a 4-member delegation of the Board of Directors went to the Ministry of Justice for a prearranged meeting with the General Manager.
“After decades of continuous presence of the secondary trade union body, in the Central Service of the Ministry of Justice, the unprecedented insults of a pedestrian type in continuation of previous insulting behaviors of the same employee, refer us to other times…” reports ODYE.
Describing the events, the Federation says that the minister is “aware of the specific incident, since at the same time it happened, there was communication between the ODYE delegation and the Director of your Office, who gave permission for our entry”.

According to what the Federation describes and “after this permission, the specific employee continued his provocations, demanding that not all of our delegation (all 4 members of the Board of Directors) enter, but only 2 of them, which angered us and forced us to leaving the Ministry”.
And he concludes: “We are puzzled, but also saddened by such a sudden change in the behavior of the Ministry of Justice during your tenure, towards our trade union body, when there has never been such a treatment in the past and in fact throughout the long tenure of your predecessor, while there were large and unbridgeable oppositions and disagreements in relation to our demands and claims, never was a dialogue interrupted “by force”, never were we prevented from exercising our trade union duties”.
Action taken and an apology
In its announcement, ODYE points out: “WE DEMAND that you take measures so that similar, unacceptable behaviors that expose the Ministry itself and you personally, on the other hand, brutally violate dignity and discredit our institutional role as a trade union body, are not repeated. Finally, we consider it self-evident, as a minimum gesture of restoration, the actual apology of the above employee to the trade union body and your condemnation of such behaviors”.
