The budget of the Municipality of Heraklion was approved by the Decentralized Administration of Crete

Approved on the morning of Thursday, April 25, 2024, from the Decentralized Administration of Crete, the budget of the Municipality of Heraklion.

We remind that the budget which was voted by the Municipal Council on Friday April 12 is amounting to approximately 281 million euroswith built-in and balance sheet loan afrom the Deposit and Loan Fund.

THE slight delay which arose in the approval of the budget, is due to the fact that the Decentralized Administration requested some additional information and some clarifications, mainly about the Technical Program. When these were given, the process proceeded normally the Municipality of Heraklion has a voted and approved budgetwith the relevant decision having already been uploaded to “Diavgeia”.

“The 2024 budget of the Municipality of Heraklion was also approved by the control service of the Decentralized Administration of Crete.

In his statement, the Mayor Alexis Kalokairinos thanked the executives of the Decentralized Administration of Crete for the immediacy with which they acted and emphasized: “A difficult chapter that we were asked to face from the first day of our Municipal Authority’s tenure, has been successfully closed. We avoided extremely unfavorable situations, stabilized the ground, brought the required balance and now we are entering a development trajectory. We focus on our work, on taking advantage of every opportunity, on the struggle to improve the daily life and quality of life of the residents of our Municipality. Heraklion has prospects. It has momentum. Our country and its people have potential. Today, we start.”

The Mayor of Heraklion did not fail to thank once again all those who worked for this result, the Deputy Mayor of Finance Giorgos Agrimanakis, the General Secretary Maria Skrafnakis, the official colleagues of the Municipality, the Special Advisor Spyros Dokianakis, the Deputy Mayors and all the members of Municipal Group, the President of IT&D Dimitris Stamatis, the Managing Director and the executives of the Fund, as well as the executives of the OTA Department. of the Ministry of the Interior who supported the Municipality of Heraklion in this process”.
