It is imperative to bring some order to the traffic anarchy on the beach, in Bentenaki, but also in 18 Anglon square

Shame, shame and shame again that a professional driver has to get in the middle to stop traffic and let pedestrians cross at 18 Anglon square. Yes, these images are commonplace in Crete, with some drivers even honking at pedestrians, who may have children with them.

Unfortunately, despite the millions of tourists that Crete has, the tourist culture is a dying species for many of our fellow citizens, who drive by making the daily life of locals and visitors even more difficult.

Now it is imperative to bring some order to the traffic anarchy on the beach, in Bentenaki, and also the 18 Anglon square, with these points daily sinking into absolute traffic anarchy. It is positive that very often the Municipal Police is present at the points, who make truly honorable efforts to deal with the situation. Of course, what is required in Heraklion is a substantial traffic study, which will put under the “microscope” all the new traffic data in the city, which is growing year by year.

Really, when will there be a substantial redesign for pedestrian crossings?
