Request from the structure “In the Name of Elk” to the municipality of Thessaloniki, for the creation of a memorial space at the point
A request to the municipality of Thessaloniki for a meeting with the mayor Stelios Angeloudis, in order to create a memorial space at the scene of the murder of 19-year-old Alkis Kampanos, is submitted, through an open letter, by “February 1st 2022 Structure – In the Name of Alkis”.
The request, according to APE-MPE, came a few 24 hours after the rental of the commercial store, which is located at the junction of Alki Kampanou and N. Plastira streets, where the murder of the student took place and where hundreds of people discreetly left scarves, shirts, notes, drawings and all kinds of memorabilia.
The members of the Domi club, after consultation with Alki’s family, will collect and temporarily store all the objects, which people of all ages left at the specific spot wanting to pass the message on the elimination of sports violence.
The Board of Directors of the “In the Name of the Moose” structure addresses a letter to the new administration and publicly requests a meeting with Mr. Angeloudis so that an idea of theirs can be implemented and a memorial site can be created at the site of the murder.
