Intervention for energy provisions of the Bill Ministry of Environment & Energy was carried out by the Member of Parliament of Kozani of PASOK – Movement for Change, Paris Koukoulopoulos, during the meeting of the Standing Committee on Production & Trade.

In the introduction he recalled that “four years ago with our late President Fofi Birthswe organized in Kozani her 1the public presentation once comprehensive strategy for energyunder the title “Energy Democracy“. A proposal that we have enriched over time and developments have it justified too many times. In titles since then we recommend:

1) Gradual withdrawal of lignites units, combined at the same time with the very fast penetration on the one hand of RES Secondly of storage.

2) Radical network upgrade medium and low voltage, to serve the penetration of RES, as well as high and ultra-high voltage avenues, so as to strengthen in 1the phase the competition with cheaper imports and in 2The time exports of energy from RES.

3) Radical energy upgrade of Public buildings in the country and of the entire building stock (80,000 buildings) at West Macedonia. This action with its multiplier it would give all the GDP it loses Western Macedonia from lignite. By this logic, of the large multiplier, the energy upgrade was later included as leading action in the Pissarides Exhibition, the fate of which is ignored.

4) Development of RES with a rule: Their positioning from all municipalities equallyunder term at least 50% of RES that is developed in each Municipality to serve their own needs Municipalitiesof farmersof socially vulnerable, her manufacturing and strong energy communities».

Countering then reports of Minister of Environment & Energy, Mr. Th. Skylakakis, regarding the cost of lignite, noted, among other things, that “the lignite unit”Ptolemais V”, if he had not been delayed for four whole years (two with culpability of SYRIZA and two with responsibility her N.D.), according to documented scientific calculations it would have relieve the state budget from at least 1.6 billion subsidies and would have been depreciated only within eighteen months of the crisis”.

On the other sideso, of the pioneer proposal of PASOKP. Koukoulopoulos stated that “the energy is donated to the few, while it appears that in less than five years 100% of RES will have passed into the hands of five powerful companies and PPC. This is not happening in no other European country, is one huge error which unfortunately Greece will pay for.”

In addition, focusing especially in Western Macedoniahotted that there “right now they are fully licensed the 7 Gw from the 28 Gw that have been licensed throughout Greece. In other words, 2.5 % of the population of the Country is called to raise on his back 25% of RES development in Greece! And this happens without being there no worries for citizens and categories where we we ensured in our proposal. What happens with the development of 2 Gw from the PPC Consortium – RWE form extreme challenge».

Concluding his intervention, MP Kozani of PASOK proceeded to two targeted proposals for corrective interventions for Western Macedonia in view of the discussion of the Bill in the Plenary:

1) To give electricity space to the Local Government, to the farmers and to the small and medium-sized businesses investors who made sure to create energy communities at this time as well have production licenses 1.4 Gwwhich remain in the unclaimedas DEDDIE does not accept their applicationsas it does not accept of farmers and her Self-government.

2) Make substantial intervention towards PPCso as to achieve a model of cooperation in Western Macedoniawith which the Local community (residents and Local Government) to participate equally with the PPC – RWE in the venture development of 2 Gw.
