The project “Shared (Hi)stories”, lasting two years (from 01.11.2022 to 31.10.2024), aims to raise awareness among young people about cultural identity and heritage as well as to strengthen their critical thinking in a multicultural society. These goals are closely related to the teaching of English as a foreign language, so that secondary school students will be more motivated to learn and practice English as a foreign language through the teaching materials that will be created based on the story and the stories that appear in the cultural and historical heritage of the states.

During the meeting, the project coordinator first reported on the general progress of the project and then the individual results of the project were discussed. In particular, the writing of a manual for teaching English as a foreign language with the content of telling stories in general and in particular stories with cultural elements common between different countries has been completed and the guides have been translated into the languages of the partners. Also, the creation of an interactive map with the stories on which the pilot teaching of the manual is based has been completed.

Subsequently, issues related to the project’s website https://sharedhistories.eu/ were discussed, where those interested will have access to all the project’s material. Next, next steps and deadlines for the completion of the remaining project deliverables, specifically the story-based teaching manual, the lesson pack and the project’s YouTube channel, were discussed. Finally, the partners referred to issues of management and dissemination of the project for the information of the teachers and the utilization of the educational material.
