With the agreement of the investigator and the prosecutor, two people from Lasithi, a 52-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were put behind bars for possession of a large amount of hashish.
In the early hours of last Sunday 21/4, men of the Security Department Ierapetra made a successful arrest after searching a car and the homes of two people in the area.
Those arrested, a 52-year-old employee Sitia and a 42-year-old woman of Albanian origin, were charged with possession of a large quantity of narcotics.
According to Cretapost’s information, during the control, the largest amount of dried Indian hemp ever found in the region was found in their possession.
After their confession, the investigator and the prosecutor deemed it necessary to remand them, as a result of which they remained behind bars from the afternoon of Wednesday 4/24.
The police continue to investigate the matter.
