OEE/TAK meeting with the Mayor of Maleviziou

A meeting at the office of the Mayor of Malevizios, Mr. Bokeas Menelaos, at the request of the President of the Greek Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Crete, Mr. Evangelos Glakas, between the Administration of the OEE/TAK and the Municipal Authority, took place on Thursday, April 18, in order to inform the members of the Administration for the economic and development issues that are at the center of the Malevizi Municipality’s interest and in which the Economic Chamber could participate in an active advisory role by utilizing the experience and know-how of the 3.5 thousand Economist members it has in the Prefecture of Heraklion.

The meeting took place in a very warm atmosphere and the Deputy Mayor of Financial Services, Mr. Parasyris Evangelos, also participated from the side of the Municipal Authority. Matters related to the Technical Program, the budget and the development planning of the Municipality were discussed. The Mayor of Malevizio, Mr. Bokeas presented the development program of the Municipality for the coming years and the investments that are to be made through the Municipality’s Own Capital and through co-financed programs from the Recovery and Resilience Fund, the Green Fund and the “Crete 2021″ Operational Program -2027”. In addition, an update was given on the underwater electrical interconnection of Crete with Attica with the creation and installation of the conversion station in the area of ​​Damasta and the compensatory benefits that will arise for the Municipality and the residents of the area. Finally, he referred to the sources of the Municipality’s revenues, the staffing of the Financial Services, the modernization and upgrading of the administrative services to better serve the citizens.

The President of the Greek Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Crete, thanked the Mayor for this 1st meeting between the two entities and asked to investigate possible ways of systematic and substantial cooperation between the two entities, so that the Chamber of Commerce can contribute positively, with proposals and ideas. In addition, he proposed the participation of members of the Economic Chamber in the committees that operate or will operate in the Municipality of Malevizi and concern economic and development issues, with the aim of providing advisory proposals on specific issues. Finally, he referred to the possibilities that exist for the preparation of strategic planning studies by the scientific team of the Chamber of Commerce, the conclusions of which could be used by the Municipality of Malevizio.

The meeting was attended by the Chamber of Commerce, in addition to the President, the Vice President of the OEE/TAK Giorgos Mavrakis, the Financial Supervisor Dimitris Angelidakis and the member of the Board of Directors. George Piliouras.
