A separate brevet of 600 kilometers, in view of the completion of 109 years, since the date 1915 when the Armenian Genocide took place.
Thessaloniki – Katerini – Larissa – Agiokambos – Litochoro – Veria – Giannitsa – Polykastro – Kilkis – Thessaloniki.
Many kilometers, a lot of rain, many new friends and great new friendships for our athlete.
Our warmest congratulations to all those who organized and participated in this beautiful brevet and well done because the 600 km, no matter how we do it, requires strength and mainly mental strength!!!!

Below is the announcement of the organizers
A) THE ASSOCIATION OF ARMENIAN ATHLETES OF THESSALONIKI – “ARMENIKI”, in view of the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in 1915, is organizing on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 08:00 am, a special Bicycle Marathon (six hundred) 600 km – “BREVET”, which is held for the first time in Northern Greece, with the distinctive title “100+9 PEDALS OF MEMORY – I DON’T FORGET”, as a minimum tribute, in memory of the 1,500,000 innocent victims of Armenian Genocide.
The start will take place on 4-20-2024 at 08:00 a.m., starting from the “HATSCAR” Armenian Monument, which is located in front of the Armenian Church of Thessaloniki (on Tsimiski Street 139-opposite CHANTH), and the its termination will take place in the evening hours, on 21-4-2024, at the Statue of Alexander the Great, in N. Paralia, Thessaloniki.
The above Cycling Marathon will take place in the Region of Central Macedonia and Thessaly and specifically it will cross the prefectures: 1) Thessaloniki (the whole center and western Thessaloniki), 2) Pieria (Aiginio, Makrygialos, Katerini, Agios Dimitrios), Larissa ( Elassona, Larissa, Agiokambo, Stomio), 3) Imathia (Vergina, Veria, Naoussa), 4) Pelli (Skydra, Giannitsa) and 5) Kilkis (Goumenissa, Polykastro, Kilkis, Mandres)
The Cycling Marathon on its route crosses and honors our cultural monuments, such as Platamonas Castle, Vergina-Aiges, Agios Dimitrios of Pieria, ancient Pella, Aliakmonas dam, etc.
The Cycling Marathon is held with the permission of the Cycling Tourism Club of Greece Audax Randonneurs Greece (brevet management body) and will be held in accordance with the terms and rules of the French body Brevet Randonneurs Mondiaux and Audax Club Parissien.
B) Also, on the same day and time, and from the same starting point (Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 08:00 a.m., starting from the Armenian Monument “HATSCAR”), a second cycling half-marathon will be held, ( one hundred and nine) 100+ 9 km, which will cover the route of N. Thessaloniki (the whole center and western Thessaloniki) and 2) N. Pieria (Aiginio, Makrygialos, Katerini), with a finishing point in the center of Katerini, on of 72 Merarchias Street.
C) Finally, on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 18:00, starting from the Armenian Monument “HATSCAR”, located in front of the Armenian Church of Thessaloniki (on Tsimiski Street 139, a bicycle race will be held in the center of Thessaloniki, following the route of Tsimiski – Polytechniou – Salaminos – Nikis Avenue and ending at Lefko Pyrgos.
At the start of the cycling race, there will be short greetings and the laying of wreaths by the Authorities of our city, at the Armenian Monument “HATSKAR”.
The above events are held under the auspices of the Ministry of Macedonia Thrace, the Region of Central Macedonia, the P.K.M. – Metropolitan Unity of Thessaloniki and the Municipality of Thessaloniki
