Everything is ready for the PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece 2024 – “The eyes of the world and in Thessaly” (photo & video)

The Deputy Minister of Sports was in Larissa, Yannis Vroutsiswho together with the governor of Thessaly, Dimitris Kouretaheld a press conference for the organization of the PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece 2024, which will take place from May 15 to 18.

In the building of the Region of Thessaly, the official presentation of the Tour was made by the officials of the Cycling Greece Organizing Committee, the routes and points of interest were detailed, while the program of Parallel Actions, aimed at ordinary fans, was also announced.

The deputy mayors of the regions through which the Tour passes were also present, so from Larissa the deputy mayor of Education and Sports was present, Iraklis Gerogiokasas well as the representatives of all institutional bodies involved in the organization.

“Highlighting the beauties of the area”

Mr. Vroutsis focused on the presentation and highlighting of the beautiful regions of Greece. After all, at the 757.02 km distance of the race, “sports tourism can be developed”, according with the deputy minister.

“We are all joining forces for this event,” explained Mr. Vroutsis, noting that the committee has also placed a great deal of weight on the “afflicted” by the disasters in Thessaly.

“Let the world learn to ride a bicycle”

Then the governor of Thessaly shared his experiences as a cyclist and noted that the PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece 2024 will be an event that will give more prestige to the region of Thessaly.

“People will learn cycling and cycling. We want this event to be massive, as it is an event that will raise the level”, said Mr. Kouretas.

Finally, he revealed that on the Mesorachi road that is being repaired by the crews of the Region of Thessaly, a bicycle path is also being built.

The president of Cycling Greece, Giorgos Leventakis, stated that “the organization of the PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece 2024 is one of the most emblematic events of the country, which primarily aims to promote Greece abroad”.

In the prefecture of Larissa, the route will pass through Livadi Elassonas, Elassona and in Larissa through Mezourlos, while the finish will be in Karditsa. The deputy mayor of Elassona, Stelios Dimoulas noted that, “it is a great honor for the region to host this top event”, while the deputy mayor of Larissa, Heraklis Gergiokas stated that “all the life of Larissa will be transferred to Mezourlos for two hours”.
