For the twenty-third consecutive year, the Heraklion Shirt Training Centers are organizing “Career Days”, an open career orientation event at the Atlantis hotel on Saturday afternoon (5:30 p.m.) on April 27. Participation is FREE for all city students and their parents. It is the largest professional orientation event that takes place in Crete, 23 consecutive years, an event that Cretans look forward to.
The following day, April 28, the opportunity is given to those A΄ Lyceum students of the city of Heraklion, Gazi and Nea Halicarnassus who register in time, to take the “Ariston Noisis Plus” professional orientation test for FREE. (Information and participation at 2810 245 300)
And this year, the Shirt Training Centers of Heraklion are organizing “Career Days”, an open career orientation event at the Atlantis hotel, with speakers Spyros MichaloulisEconomist – Vocational Guidance Counselor (M.Sc.), member of the Board of Directors of the Orientum career counseling company (www.orientum.gr) and Thodoris Theotokis, Orientum’s Study Counselor, eminently competent in matters of professional guidance, studies and the labor market in Greece.
Their proposals will concern important changes in the High School and the Admission System to higher education. They will insist on issues of Counseling for parents and students, reading motivation, goal setting and ways of organizing program and study by students. The main part of their presentation will concern sections of higher education in relation to the subject of their studies, their professional rights but also their professional prospects. They will suggest informed, smart study and career choices, taking into account new labor market data. They will refer to ‘alternative careers’, i.e. options that can lead to different career paths, which are in demand in the labor market. Finally, they will give practical, valuable advice for completing the computerized form for those who are taking this year’s Panhellenic exams.
Workshop – Communication of Students with Professionals: In the middle of the Event, students will have the opportunity to communicate directly – live with Professionals from various areas, from the entire spectrum of professional – economic activity (more than 30 different successful Professionals of Heraklion), in order to ask themselves and get information about the conditions of their professions and their prospects.
FREE PROFESSIONAL ORIENTATION TEST FOR 1ST HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
The next day (April 28) the opportunity is given to those students A‘ Lyceum of the city of Heraklion, Gazi and Nea Halicarnassus declare their participation in time, to pass the professional orientation test, “Ariston Noisis Plus”, for FREE.
It is one of the most reliable Vocational Orientation Tests in Greece, which investigates the student’s personality (professional types & characteristics) and interests. Based on the particular elements of each student’s personality, it safely and in order of ranking suggests university schools that fit each student’s profile.
The procedure – participation in the relevant Test lasts about 30 minutes. The weeks after the test will be followed by an individual advisory analysis of the test results (printed report of individual results), with the aim of the correct Professional Orientation of the participating students. Counseling will be done by specially trained staff, certified counselors from the University of Nicosia, in the presence of the student and at least one parent.
