Unesco cooks fasting food in Modiano Market
A Gastrimargiko Master class for the Flavors of Lent, by multi-awarded chefs Sotiris Evangelou and Dimitris Tsanana.
The Municipality of Thessaloniki with the support of the Directorate of Culture and Tourism, under the auspices of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki, organizes the “Devotional Week”, an institution with a history of more than two decades that returns renewed and enriched, one week before the Week of the Passion.
As part of the Adoration week, on Saturday April 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m., the award-winning and beloved chef ambassadors of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, Sotiris Evangelos and Dimitris Tsananas, are coming to the Central Food Market of the city, the Modiano Market, and cooking Lenten recipes in the idyllic exterior of the Market .
A unique culinary masterclass by two top chefs that will be held under the auspices of the UNESCO creative cities network for gastronomy and where the public will have the opportunity to learn the secrets of creating traditional Lenten dishes.
Using fresh, pure and fine products from the shops of Agora Modiano, chef Sotiris Evangelou will present a healthy and easy barley soup with shrimps, while chef Dimitris Tsananas will perform in front of the audience honeyed, wine cuttlefish, using pure local raw materials.
Entry for the public is free.
