Minute by minute, the shameful scene that unfolded in the premises of the Parliament with the protagonists of the independent MP Konstantinos Floros and the Hellenic Solution MP Vassilis Grammenos is presented.

The attack inside the Parliament that led to the arrest of Konstantinos Floros and the criminal prosecution in the degree of felony, as well as the transfer to the hospital of Vassilis Grammenos unfolds, through information from newsit.gr and the recording of the information note of the Department of State Protection and of the Democratic State of the State Security Directorate which has undertaken the investigation of the case.

The independent MP, after the lawsuit filed by Mr. Grammenos, is accused of violence against him and injury and of violating article 157 of the criminal code for the crime of “insulting the president of the Republic, the Parliament, the government and its organs local Authorities”.

As reported, the incident unfolded at 12:05 on April 24, at the west gate of the Hellenic Parliament building outside the parliament hall.

In particular, “above place and time, at the moment when a vote was underway in the Parliament hall of the Hellenic Parliament to lift the parliamentary immunity of the Leader of the political party “Hellenic Solution” Mr. Velopoulos Kyriakos and the independent Member of Parliament Mr. Baran Bouhran , the Member of Parliament of the political party “Hellenic Solution” Mr. Grammenos Vassilios temporarily left it, from the West Gate of the Parliament building, without having voted, in order to appease the spirits with the independent Member of Parliament Mr. Floros Konstantinos, from whom he allegedly to have previously received threats within Parliament and with the intention of returning immediately to participate in the ongoing vote.

There he met a Police Officer serving in the Security Service of the Hellenic Parliament/Security Department and asked him to intervene. At that moment he left the Parliament and Mr. Floros Konstantinos came to the scene and argued with Mr. Grammenos Vasilios. The Policeman tried to calm them down and placed his body between them and they tried to push each other away.

Headlock

The scenes that followed are appalling. According to the recording: “Mr. Floros passed his right hand over the Policeman, grabbing Mr. Grammenos, with a headlock handle by the neck, as a result of which he threw him to the ground and injured him. Subsequently, Mr. Grammenos was taken to the Parliament Clinic to be provided with first aid and then to the General Aviation Hospital, where it was found that he has a fracture of the nasal bones, a sprain and strain of the acromioclavicular joint, a traumatic rupture of the wrist and fifeocarpal ligament, as well as other specified disorders of the nose and sinuses. Mr. Floros was removed from the scene by the Police and taken to the headquarters of the State Security Directorate.”

What Vassilis Grammenos testified

“Examined under oath by officers of the Sub-Directorate of State Security”, Mr. Grammenos, as stated in the EL.AS information note, said that “the attack he received from Mr. Floros was carried out with the aim of preventing him from carrying out his duties as Member of Parliament. Furthermore, due to his injury, Mr. Grammenos was not able to vote, in the context of the above voting. Following this, Mr. Floros was arrested by the Y.K.A, for violation of article 157 of the Criminal Code. “Insults against the President of the Republic, the Parliament or the Government and local self-government bodies” and in accordance with article 62 of the Constitution”.

An order for a Medical Forensic Examination was granted to the injured

The arrested person, with the file filed against him, was taken to the Athens District Attorney’s Office where he was charged with a felony for assaulting a member of parliament in the performance of his duties, while after one o’clock on Thursday he will be brought before the investigator for his apology. It is pointed out that the criminal prosecution brought against the MP is based on article 157 of the Criminal Code.

The felony form of the first paragraph states that: “Whoever, by force or threat of force, imposes on the Parliament or the Government or on a member thereof the execution, omission or tolerance of an act related to their duties, shall be punished by imprisonment of at least ten years.” The same penalty is imposed if the act is directed against a leader of a political party recognized under the Parliament’s regulations.”
