Earlier today, wild and unprecedented were the images that took place at noon outside the site of Plenary Session of the Parliament, when the independent MP, who had been elected with the Spartans, Konstantinos Floros, attacked and beat the Hellenic Solution MP Vasilis Grammeno, resulting in it being transferred to GNA with broken nose.

Konstantinos Floros, who arrived shortly after 19.15 in Evelpidon, was detained in the previous hours at GADA, where he was escorted by police officers from the parliament guard. He faces a felony charge of assaulting a deputy in the performance of his duties.

The parliamentary representative of Hellenic Solution, Konstantinos Chitas, spoke about the progress of MP Vassilis Grammenou’s health. As he explained, the MP was taken to the hospital after being punched by the independent MP, Konstantinos Floros. There it was found that he had suffered fracture of nasal bones, sprain and strain of the acromioclavicular joint and traumatic carpal and fifeocarpal ligament tears. The MP has it splint placed and has received 10 days sick leave.

The unprecedented incident, which according to information is due to a “feud” between them Greek Solution and the independent member of parliament, it took place at the time when the president of the Hellenic Solution was on the floor of the Parliament Kyriakos Velopoulos, with the topic of discussion the lifting of his immunity, after the father of the deputy Floros sued, regarding anonymous accounts on Twitter that insult him.

How was the episode?

The representative of the Hellenic Solution Konstantinos Chitas said he was in favor of lifting immunity, although he said the lawsuit was not connected to Mr. Velopoulos. Then, Constantinos Floros jumped up and told him that this will be decided by the court.

Immediately, members of the Hellenic Solution started swearing at them Konstantinos Floros. Information states that Vassilis Grammenos said to the independent MP “I’m going to fuck you… mother, I’ll send you to prison with bracelets” and Konstantinos Floros replied “come out and tell me”.

Konstantinos Floros, as can be seen in the video, leaves the room angry, while a member of parliament tried to stop him, but without success.

Then, just outside the Plenary, the independent MP grabbed him by the collar Vasilis Grammeno, punched him and threw something at him. Mr. Grammenos was taken to the Parliament clinic for first aid, while he was then transferred to the General Hospital, where it was found that he has suffered a broken nose.

The police authorities proceeded to arrest the independent MP, who was taken to her offices General Police Directorate of Attica under article 157 of the Criminal Code for Violence against a political body or the Government.

“We will make sure that the consequences of this act are as severe as possible” said the Speaker of the Parliament Konstantinos Tasoulas. “Unfortunately, the regulation does not provide for this brutal behavior and I dare say it is quite lenient, because when we were making it, we thought we were addressing fundamentally reasonable people,” he added.

In particular, Mr. Tassoulas stated that based on article 157 of the Criminal Code it provides that anyone who commits violence against a member of the Parliament is punished with up to 10 years in prison. He also emphasized that Mr. Grammenos did not even have time to vote in the ongoing vote of the Parliament. He even pointed out that parliamentary immunity covers misdemeanors but not felonies, so “we can charge the perpetrator of this vulgar and barbaric attack with a felon.”
