The A1 Political Department of the Supreme Court “saw” a clear connection between Ilias Kasidiaris and the Spartan party, and with this fact the judges “cut off” his participation in the upcoming European elections.
The Areopagites point out in their decision that the real leader of the Spartan party is the convicted – in the first degree – director of the Golden Dawn criminal organization, Ilias Kasidiaris.
According to their rationale, the 11 Spartiate MPs “actually offered their party as a cloak for a new political party to Ilias Kasidiaris, making it easier for him to circumvent the eligibility restrictions set by the electoral legislation”.
The judges also refer to the fact that 11 of his deputies have been prosecuted for the criminal act of aiding and abetting voter fraud, acts allegedly committed during the parliamentary elections of June 25.
The Areopagites refer to their decision all along the way, the action and statements of Ilias Kasidiaris in the Golden Dawn party, but also in his course with the “Hellenes” party and the support he provided to the Spartans with his statements and positions while they also refer to all the closed meetings he organized, “a large number of prominent officials and candidate MPs of the GOLDEN DAWN participated, some of whom are still today MPs of the “SPARTATES” party.”
“Spartans replace Golden Dawn”
The A1 Political Department of the Supreme Court concluded after all this that “it is demonstrated that Ilias Kasidiaris, the real leader of the party “SPARTIATES”, which replaces “HRYSI AVGI” never disapproved or demobilized, even in the slightest, the previous – as a leader of the GOLDEN DAWN – hate speech, his violent and racist action, within the criminal mechanism of the aforementioned party, copying the institutional mechanisms of the Greek state, the intended policy of overthrowing the democratic institutions of the rule of law and the disapproval of rights and freedoms , recognized by democracy.”
As stated by the judges “In this case it appears that the party “SPARTATES”, whose real leader is Ilias Kasidiaris, was sentenced to a total sentence of 13 years and 6 months for the crime of joining and directing the criminal organization “LAIKOS SYDESMOS – GOLDEN DAWN’ and the illegal possession of a firearm, which it carries out, promotes a policy that does not respect democracy and aims to weaken and destroy the democratic state and the institutions of the rule of law, in particular by the use of violence or the incitement to violence, as and its justification, the promotion of totalitarian ideologies, the spread of racist and intolerant ideas and xenophobia, the approval of crimes against humanity, hatred against persons and groups, actions and declarations that threaten the peaceful coexistence of social groups in the country.”
Because of this, the Supreme Court decided to “cut” the Spartans party from the upcoming European elections.
