Vroutsis from Larissa for the International Cycling Tour of Greece: “Sports at all levels are a priority” (photo

The Deputy Minister of Sports, Mr. Yannis Vroutsis and the Regional Mayor of Thessaly, Mr. Dimitris Kouretas, informed about the International Cycling Tour of Greece PPC 2024 today at noon on Wednesday, in the context of a press conference they gave in the Hall of the Regional Council of Thessaly in Larissa.

At the Press Conference, the official presentation of the Tour was made by the officials of the Cycling Greece Organizing Committee, the routes and points of interest were detailed, while the program of Parallel Activities, aimed at ordinary fans, was also announced.

Present were the Mayors of the regions through which the Tour passes, as well as the representatives of all the institutional bodies involved in the organization.

“We are in an Olympic year,” noted Mr. Brutsis. “Every time we have the Olympic Games and beyond, we Greeks must remember how proud and excited we should be and how much we should upgrade sports in our country. This should be the prioritization of sport at all levels.

“Bicycling, in addition to being a means of sport, is also a way of life. We have a duty to “build” it in our country as well”, stated Mr. Curette and emphasized the need to create a safe lane for bicycles on both sides of the Mesorachi bypasses.

The PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece 2024 starts its competition program on May 15 in Thessaloniki, where the previous day (May 14) the official presentation of the 20 teams and 120 athletes will have taken place, in an event that will be framed by many actions for young and old, along the beach of Thessaloniki – centered on the White Tower – and up to the Traffic Management Park.
