Wednesday (24/04) can be described as a black page in the history of the Parliament. The episode between Konstantinos Floros and Vassilis Grammenos came to be added to the moments of tension that have been recorded in black letters in the history of the Greek parliament.

Of course, history has already been made since it is the first time that a member of parliament has been arrested through the self-immolation procedure. On Thursday, the independent member of parliament will go through the door of the investigator in order to testify, although he already denies that what is being complained about has happened. “I grabbed him by the collar and threw him down. No punches or anything else that has been said has happened in the slightest.

That can be proven anyway in any way of forensics or whatever if I punched anybody. If anyone is scarred by all this it might be me. On my neck where I also have some scratches. From the collar like a headlock and I threw him down” he said speaking to LIVE News.

According to statements by the defendant’s lawyer, Vassos Pantazis, the incident was preceded by a “vulgar verbal attack” by the victim towards her principal. The advocate referred to “justified indignation”, as “provided and defined in the criminal law”.

At the same time, Mrs. Pantazi, expressing surprise at the criminal charge against Mr. Floros, spoke of “legal exaggeration” over an unfortunate personal incident.

What does the medical opinion say about Grammenos?

Greek Solution MP Vassilis Grammenos was diagnosed with broken nasal bones and a broken wrist after the attack by independent MP Constantinos Floros against him in the Parliament.

According to the medical announcement, made public by the “Hellenic Solution” Member of Parliament Costas Hytas, Mr. Grammenos has “sprain and stretching her acromioclavicular joint. Traumatic wrist ligament rupture and piriformis” as well as “other specified disorders of the nose”.

The medical prescription calls for a fifeocarpal rest splint and arm rest, while he was granted 10 days sick leave.

The Chronicles

The incident occurred during a debate on the lifting of the immunity of Mr. Velopoulos, whose case concerned defamation through a false account on a social network submitted by an officer of the National Security Agency. of the Navy.

According to the same information, Mr. Grammenos had filed a lawsuit against Mr. Floros’ father for defamation through the press and insult. Outside the Plenary Chamber of the Parliament, obscene expressions were heard and according to information, Floros punched Grammenos, while he allegedly also gave him a jiu zitsu type grip and threw him to the ground

Expulsion of Floros from the proceedings of the Parliament

The president of the Parliament Konstantinos Tasoulas characterized this behavior as “brutal” and ordered Mr. Floros to be removed by the guard and suspended for 15 days from all parliamentary proceedings, in accordance with the Parliament’s regulations.

The police proceeded to arrest the independent member of parliament – a former member of the Spartans – based on article 157 of the new Criminal Code. Mr. Floros was taken to GADA
with police escort.

He will remain there at least until his apology to the investigator who will decide the next steps.
