A protest performance was held by the Labor Center of Larisa on Wednesday, April 24, at the Regional Directorate of Thessaly of DYPA (formerly OAED) for the request of the Municipality of Larissa to be granted the plot intended for the construction of the new building of the Labor Center.

It is an unacceptable and insulting action by the Municipal Authority, said the president of the Labor Center Yannis Skokas. He noted that the municipal authority should withdraw its request and DYPA should in any case not accept it, not grant a plot of land that belongs to the workers and the Labor Center of Larisa.

A delegation of the Labor Center of Larissa requested and had a meeting with the director of DYPA Thessaly, Olga Chiurva who pledged to pass on the Labor Center’s request for a meeting with the authorities.

It is recalled that this plot of land was granted in 1984 by the municipal authority of the late Aristides Lamproulis in the Labor Center for the construction of the new building of the Labor Center of Larisa. The concession of the plot was made in order to facilitate the complete unveiling of the Second Ancient Theatre, as the existing building which is the headquarters of the Labor Center covers almost half of this important monument of Larissa.
