The police authorities arrested a man on Tuesday morning for attempted shoplifting in Glyfada and infidelity.

The 36-year-old was arrested for attempted theft by complicity and perjury while his accomplices are being sought. The arrest was made in the area of ​​Menidi, by police officers of the O.P.K.E. group.

According to ELAS, the 36-year-old together with his accomplices using a stolen car attempted to break the rolls of a mobile phone store in the Glyfada area, in order to gain access to its interior, however the alarm was sounded and they escaped.

At the same time, the Operations Center was informed and after coordinated actions and targeted searches by the police forces, the car in question was located by the Immediate Action police officers on the Athens-Lamia highway at the height of the Attica road.

Police using signals called the driver to stop, but he sped off. Then, they followed the car to the area of ​​Menidi, where it stopped and the perpetrators fled on foot. The police authorities continued the search and located the 36-year-old and took him to the Glyfada Security Department, where was identified as one of the perpetrators of the above crimes.

The arrested person, with the case filed against him by the Glyfada Security Department, was taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Athens.
