New Tesla Model 3 Performance: Directly in Greece with stormy performance (vid)

The top version of the Tesla Model 3 has several hundred horsepower, new active suspension and dozens of improvements, at a price that electrifies.

The news has been revealed Tesla Model 3 Performance and together with all the impressive elements that accompany it. The model is of course based on the improved, facelifted version of the Model 3, incorporating all the developments in design, build quality and software. At the same time, the Performance version has a multitude of differences from the two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive Long Range versions, with exclusive elements. Unlike outgoing Tesla Model 3 Performance which was identical to the less powerful versions.

Aerodynamic and aesthetic uniqueness

The new Model 3 Performance stands out from the rest of the model, both at the front and at the rear. A front splitter, a rear diffuser and new spoiler are the main points of differentiation. These new design elements – at the same time – ensure much improved aerodynamic performance and better air flow along the entire length of the body.

The aim of the designers was to have aerodynamic harmony and interaction of these design elements. The result justifies them as 5% reduced air resistance, 36% reduced body aerodynamic lift and 55% improvement in front and rear lift balance have been achieved.

Active suspension and stronger frame

Compared to the less powerful versions of the Model 3, the Performance has frame improvements that offer increased rigidity while reducing weight. These include new shock absorbers, a multi-section stabilizer bar, ultra-high-strength steel springs and stiffer suspension mounts.

At the same time, the model has been equipped with electronically controlled shock absorbers (Adaptive Damping), which adapt to the driving style and road conditions in real time. This increases body control at high speeds and winding roads, while at the same time improving comfort in urban conditions or rough asphalt.

The new adaptive suspension is controlled through Tesla’s software and is therefore a fully integrated subsystem that works perfectly with everything else. The driving characteristics can now be selected by the driver through three programs, called Standard, Sport and Track.

By selecting the Track driver, the user has the possibility to parameterize the drive transmission on the front and rear axles from 0:100 – 100:0 staggered in 5 steps. Depending on the settings, all the subsystems of the car are modified – engine response, steering, suspension, dynamic control, etc. Finally, track-ready brakes are now standard with the high-performance pads and provide more immediate deceleration, while also having higher thermal limits and durability

Upgrade inside as well

The most immediately noticeable improvement inside the new Model 3 Performance is the new design of the front seats. As required by top performance, the new sports seats have reinforced sections for optimal lateral support to hold the body in corners and dynamic driving. They can also be heated and ventilated.

Carbon fiber (carbon fiber) upholstery with Tesla’s unique weave pattern helps the Model 3 Performance stand out in the Model 3 lineup. tests by the special type of car and are a particularly pleasant but also expected improvement in the new model.

With the gas on the floor

With 460 hp constant power and 510 in boost mode, the new Tesla Model 3 Performance is a real “rocket” from ground to ground. Acceleration from standstill to 100 km/h is completed in just 2.9 seconds. while the maximum speed reaches 260 kilometers.

To transfer the colossal power to the road, the model is equipped with standard 20-inch diameter wheels in different dimensions, for the first time, front and rear. In particular, the front tires have a width of 235 with a profile of 35 and the rear width of 275 with a profile of 30. As in their standard setting the power and torque goes more to the rear axle, this solution was deemed necessary for top grip and a better feeling in the steering system.

Hand in pocket

With a cost that for our country reaches 55,990 euros, the Tesla Model 3 Performance is an excellent proposal in the sport sedan medium car category, but now with strong competition. For a quick comparison, the 530hp BYD Seal Excellence AWD costs €48,990, while at the top end the 544hp BMW i4 M50 Gran Coupe costs €75,850. Finally we should note the fact that despite its significant improvements, the new Model 3 Performance is significant cheaper from the model it replaces. The one, which was introduced in our country at the end of 2021, cost 60,990 euros.

According to information from Tesla Greece, the Model 3 Performance is expected immediately in our country, within the month of May, shortly after Easter.
