THE SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance condemnedunequivocally and unequivocally” the beating of the “Hellenic Solution” member of parliament, Vassilis Grammenos.

This unprecedented and unimaginable incident demonstrates the contempt of far-right formations for parliament and emphatically reminds us of the danger posed to our Republic by tolerance of hate speech and thuggery. Inside and outside Parliament“, emphasizes SYRIZA.

While the European elections are approaching and the decisions of the Court of Justice are awaited both for the declaration of the combination of the “Spartans” in the European elections, and for the very legitimacy of the presence of the party in question in the Greek Parliament, the situation drags on.

The episode of the beating of the Hellenic Solution MP Vassilis Grammenos by the now independent but elected with the “Spartans” Konstantinos Floros is not unprecedented. On the contrary, it recalls the works and days of the once Golden Dawn in Parliament.

Bullying, violence, vulgar and provocative behavior are neither random nor spontaneous incidents, they are the way in which the extreme right and fascism project to society an image of strength and anti-systemicity.”
