The organic growth of PPC’s RES portfolio is progressing dynamically

Renewable, as new wind and solar projects are being completed all the time

and are added to the existing RES projects with an installed capacity of approx

1.5GW. In the first quarter of 2024, its first part was put into operation

of the KOUKOULI-DOUKAS wind farm complex in Western Macedonia.

Specifically, it was put into operation, after the connection with the

electricity transmission system, the “Koukouli” wind park, in

wider area of Siatista. The project, with an installed capacity of 13.5MW

consists of three 4.5MW wind turbines which are expected to

generate 38 GWh of energy per year, while preventing emission

about 22,000 tons of CO2. In addition to the “Koukouli” wind farm, the cluster of wind farms in the West

Macedonia also consists of the “Doukas” wind park, near Kleisoura

Kastoria. With an installed capacity of 26MW from 5 wind turbines of 5.2MW, o

“Doukas” station is expected to produce 68 GWh per year and prevent with

its operation the emission of approximately 39,500 tons of CO2. Work is progressing with

rapidly and its operation is expected before the end of the year. THE

construction of the two wind farms started in the summer of 2022.

With around 1.8 GW of new RES projects currently under construction, the

PPC is vigorously advancing its green transformation through the 100%

subsidiary PPC Renewables. Among the major RES projects that

also under construction is the 550MW photovoltaic project-station, located within the old lignite mines of the wider area of

Ptolemais and one of the largest solar energy projects in Europe.
