The President of the Parliament, Kostas Tasoulas, gave an order to the guard of the Parliament to bring before the authorities with the procedure of self-immolation the independent MP Konstantinos Floros, from the Spartans, who raped today against the MP of the Hellenic Solution, Vassilis Grammenos.

Mr. Tasoulas asked the guard of the Parliament to explain based on the facts that, in the opinion of the Parliament, the case of the version of article 157 of the new Penal Code, the version of violence against a member of the Parliament during the exercise of his duties so as not to be considered protected by immunity, which protects misdemeanors but not felonies per se.

Also, as Mr. Tasoulas announced from the seat, because vulgar insults were exchanged both in the Plenary and in the peristyle, the authorities will be sent the minutes, as well as the testimony of the police officers who may have heard these exchanges of insults about the further.

“This is the spectrum of dealing with this unexpected unacceptable event” said the Speaker of the House, returning to the subject of the unprecedented episode and informed the House, on the handling of “this abominable behavior” as he described it.

“The arsenal of the Rules of the House did not have the imagination to think that an elected member of the House can come here and punch another member. This is for information and compliance. We will extend our imagination to these versions as well.

However, there is the Penal Code, which is more proactive. There is article 157 of the new Penal Code which talks about crimes against political and state institutions and provides that whoever, by force or threat of force, threatens to force the president of the Republic, the Parliament, the government or any of their members into execution or failure to execute failure or tolerance of an act related to duties as well as anyone who commits violence against them during the exercise of their duties – “here we have violence and in fact the member of parliament who was beaten did not even have time to vote” he noted – is punished with up to ten years in prison.

This means that immunity covers misdemeanors, but not spontaneous felonies, we can refer the perpetrator of this vulgar and barbaric attack for a spontaneous felony because imprisonment is foreseen,” explained the president of the Parliament.
