Social media are an integral part of the daily life of millions of citizens and in recent years have also become a useful tool in the way politicians communicate.

Politics goes through social media with politicians each trying to create their own interactive profile and get in direct contact with the people and especially the youth either through Tik Tok or Facebook either from Instagram.

We went out into the streets of Tripoli and sought to catch the pulse of the young regarding this issue and on the occasion of the upcoming European elections coming next June.

Young people follow and even actively follow politicians in most of the responses we received and even have their own criteria for how they use social media.

The answers we received if young people are influenced by social media when it comes to their political choices are that they are certainly interested in being informed about current affairs, but it does not play an important role in their decision about the person they will choose at the ballot box.

They also emphasized that they would like more political opinions and positions for the everyday life of citizens instead of lifestyle and communication campaigns.
