Seminar of the Directorate of Primary Education of Larissa in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism of Cyprus

On Thursday 18/4/20224, the online seminar, organized by the Directorate of Primary Education of Larissa, in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism of Cyprus, in the context of the International Thematic Network for Sustainability, with the title: “The children are ambassadors of their country”.

The theme of the seminar was: “Young Tourism Ambassadors Program – Deputy Ministry of Tourism of Cyprus” and in it the school units-members of the above International Network from Greece and abroad and the Cultural Programs Educators, had the opportunity to be informed about many and different aspects of the rich history and tradition of Cyprus, as well as for the special program of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism of Cyprus, through which it is addressed to the school units of the country, in order to implement pedagogical actions of experiential connection of the students with the local cultural heritage and the tourist promotion of it.

In the opening greeting she sent to the seminar, the Director of Primary Education of Larissa, Mrs. Karagiorgou Aikaterini, warmly thanked the Deputy Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus for the honor of being a member of the Pedagogical Group of the above International Thematic Network, and for the cooperation, mentioning among others :

“The purpose of the Environmental and Cultural Education Network is to promote the transition of the provided work of educational structures from introversion to extroversion, through a modern and pedagogically up-to-date network of exchange of ideas, proposals and best educational practices between students and teachers of different school units and regions. In this context, it is our wish that this educational activity be an occasion to take initiatives and plan educational activities that will include the rich cultural heritage of Cyprus, but also an opportunity to exchange good practices from every corner of Hellenism, in the joint effort of experientially connecting the of our male and female students, with local traditions”.

A greeting was also sent by the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cyprus, Mr. Koumis Kostas, who thanked the Directorate of Primary Education of Larissa, for the cooperation and for the opportunity for the school units-members of the Network to get to know the great cultural heritage of Cyprus, inviting them Greek school units to include Cyprus in the visits they make, referring to the strong ties that connect the two countries.
