The concession of the Attica Road to GEK Terna after the tender in which it was declared the contractor, has brought to the table proposals for the entry of other companies into the exploitation of the road artery.
This was revealed to journalists by the president and managing director of the GEK Terna group on the sidelines of yesterday’s event for the inauguration of the delivery to traffic of two new sections of the E65 road axis.
As Giorgos Peristeris mentioned, there are some proposals for the entry of companies into the company’s share composition, however, he did not seem particularly warm to this possibility, while he did not go into more details.
With reference to the projects undertaken by the group, its manager noted that they are progressing, however delays are expected in some of them, such as in the middle section of the BOAK that will connect Heraklion with Chania, as appeals have been filed. He was more clear about the airport in Kastelli, saying it is expected to be ready by 2026.
The extension of Attica Road
In relation to the proposal that has been submitted and which concerns the extension of Attica Road to Lavrio, Rafina and Vouliagmenis Avenue, Mr. Peristeris was not able to make any assessment, since as he said until today there has been no mobility by government.
At the same time, he emphasized that this extension is of particular importance, as it will provide relief to traffic congestion, which is expected to occur when the project in Elliniko is completed.
Business developments
Asked about the possibility of the acquisition of Terna Energy, he answered that there is no such possibility in the short term, preventing the scenarios for any development even during Easter.
For GEK Terna Parachoresis, Giorgos Peristeris stated that various scenarios are being considered, among them the entry of investors into the equity scheme.
Finally, referring to the public debts, he said that there are delays which in some cases exceed 12 months.
