The Greek stock market continues to seek new peaks today (24/4), with the General Index strengthening for the sixth consecutive day, coming from closing at a 13-year high.
Investors appear not to be suffering from… altitude phobia, driving the domestic market to new multi-year highs. Few stocks are showing corrective trends at the moment, with the time of profit taking appearing to be yet to come.
Starting from the 2.5-month low of 1,357.30 points, which was recorded on April 16, A.H. he hasn’t looked back since, with his total “jump” today reaching 100 points and around +7%.
In particular, in Wednesday’s session the General Index gains 0.68% or almost 10 points compared to yesterday and trades at 1,457.63 points. Daily low of 1,448.93 points, which is higher than Tuesday’s close (1,447.82 points).
The next highest close for DG is 1,469.03 units (4/15/2011). At the same time, the total capitalization of the market now drops the “barrier” of 100 billion euros.
On the board, the banking index shows the best picture again, with a rise of 0.98% to 1,269.52 points. The FTSE 25 is up 0.65% at 3,554.16 and the Mid Cap is up 0.52% at 2,339.90.
The value of the transactions is 14.461 million euros, of which 3.921 million euros concern packages. Piraeus, Athens International Airport (IAA), Eurobank and Alpha Bank already have a turnover of more than 1 million euros. The market capitalization stands at €100.53 billion, with advancers (68) outnumbering decliners.
In the banking securities, National Bank strengthened by +1.62% to 7,634 euros, followed by Alpha Bank (+1.34% to 2,011 euros), Alpha Bank (+1.38% to 1.69 euros) and Piraeus (+0.63% to 4.025 euros).
