More specifically, the African dust that affects our country has already covered several areas, creating an explosive cocktail for the residents. Doctors beware

While the atmosphere is suffocating, doctors draw attention to people with an already burdened history.

“Clearly, the presence of increased dust particles causes various problems both in the respiratory and cardiovascular in the sense that it stimulates the development of inflammation in systems that are already suffering, resulting in outbreaks“, said Sofia Pouriki, pulmonologist and intensivist of the “Sotiria” ICU.

It would be good, until the phenomenon goes away, for people with respiratory and cardiovascular problems to limit their movements.

In this phase, people who have some chronic problems should be careful. We mean that they should avoid being outdoors, especially during the day, and stay indoors as much as possible.” added Sofia Pouriki.

And if the dust clears for a while, it looks like it will be back starting next week.

THE African dust will retreat from the Thursday, however for two more days people who are dealing with underlying diseases should be especially careful.

However, beyond the health problems, beyond the eerie images due to the African dust and beyond the covered cars, the impact on the air conditioners is also significant.

Speaking to ACTION24, the expert Yiannis Patelis confirmed that the African dust also passes the filterand recommended regular cleaning and more than once a year depending on its use.
