The first member of the royal family to be honored with the highest title Companion of honor became the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton. A title where only 65 people have obtained.
The 41-year-old Kate, who in recent months has been going through a great adventure with her health, was honored by King Charles for her “outstanding” public work.
A number of distinguished members have received this honorary title, including JK Rowling, Sir John Major and George Osborne, Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John.
The Companion of honor established in 1917 by George V to recognize and honor outstanding achievements in the arts, sciences, medicine and public service.
Those who have done this title have the initials CH after their name. Notable former members include Winston Churchill and Stephen Hawkings.
Her recovery is going well
Kate Middleton’s cancer recovery is “going well”, says an expert, who claims Prince William’s recent public appearances are meant to signal the royal family is returning to a state of normalcy.
The 42-year-old Princess of Wales stunned the world last month when she announced she was undergoing “preventive chemotherapy” for an unspecified form of cancer discovered during abdominal surgery.
Prince William, 41, then took a step back from his duties to support his ailing wife, but returned to royal life with an appearance at a charity food distribution in Surrey, England, on Thursday. Last week, the future king was also spotted watching a football match with his eldest son Prince George, 10.
Both outings were deliberately designed to reassure the public that Princess Kate’s recovery is on schedule and making steady progress, according to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams.
“The royals realize that everything they do sends a message in one way or another,” he told the Sun on Saturday.
Princess Kate’s battle for health comes as 75-year-old King Charles is also battling an undisclosed form of cancer. The monarch has also been forced to step back from public duties, sparking a new crisis in the institution of the monarchy. In January, King Charles released a statement saying he would be hospitalized for treatment for an enlarged prostate. He then announced that doctors found cancer during said operation.
The shocking health news comes shortly after Princess Kate revealed she will be out of the public eye until Easter as she undergoes scheduled surgery.
