Today, within the EU, the people are “isolated” from their right to live with a decent income and salary, a stable job, to have modern rights to education, health, culture, but also to live peacefully and safely in the country of.
Within the EU, the people lived the nightmare of the pandemic more “isolated” than ever, with member states looting masks and other necessary sanitary items at airports, “diving” vaccines, becoming “the thief, of the thief” among the “allies”.
Within the EU and based on its dozens of Directives and legislation, workers remain “isolated” from the right to permanent and stable work, from fixed daily working time. They are forced to live on starvation wages, wandering between low-paid work and unemployment.
The subsistence farmers, because of the CAP supported by all the parties of the EU arc and the resulting commitments, remain more “isolated” than ever, even from their own products, it becomes unprofitable to grow and sell them. Based on these commitments their income received serious blows, as after the embargo of Russia and the consequences of the imperialist war.
The same isolation within the EU is experienced by thousands of residents and workers in the regions that are languishing due to de-lignification, in the name of “green businesses” promoted by the wolf alliance, with the people simultaneously sinking into energy poverty.
Within the EU, the youth experience the impasses that are magnified by the commercialization of education, the categorization of schools, they experience exclusion from modern public and free infrastructures for mass sports, for access to culture, etc.
Within the EU, Greece’s islands are christened NATO territory and seas NATO waters, with EU and NATO allies turning their backs on the aggression and unacceptable claims of Turkey, which the government and other parties portray as … isolated from the international community!
Within the EU, Greece is negotiating with Turkey in full for painful compromises on its sovereign rights, which go as far as the co-management of the Aegean and the Anat. Mediterranean. At the same time, Cyprus remains under occupation and the definitive division of the island is now being planned.
Within the EU and NATO, our people become the aggressors of other peoples by engaging in imperialist wars and at the same time the victim of the rival imperialist centers. And all this, with the miserable argument of the government and the other parties that the country cannot be … isolated!
It therefore proves that EU membership is not a factor of protection for the country and the people. On the contrary, it is a factor in strengthening deadlocks and popular problems, making them worse and worse. That is why, after all, according to the spring Eurobarometer, only 39% in Greece and 47% (on average) in the member states have a positive image of the EU. While 1 in 4 Greeks and almost the same on average in the others states (23%) consider that their country did not benefit from EU membership.
An even more strengthened KKE from the ballot boxes of the European elections will be a resource for the struggle and the fair claims of the workers against the barbaric policy of the EU and its governments. The path proposed by the KKE for disengagement from the EU with workers’ power may seem difficult and more “distant” for others, but it is the only one that guarantees how the country and the people will develop relations of mutual cooperation, friendship and solidarity with everyone the peoples and countries of the world.
After all, in the rest of Europe, things are not unheard of! An irrefutable witness is the great struggles that broke out in previous years, such as the unprecedented strikes in France, Germany, etc. Struggles that blocked huge production units, squeezed the governments and the EU and amply proved that the peoples, through their struggle, acquire real allies and supports. And that only “isolated” is not anyone who fights with the right flag, against the brutality of capital, which has poverty, exploitation and war as normal.
