“We are writing History, changing the world – Our future is socialism!”.
This year marks 50 years since the 1st Festival of KNE and “Odegitis”, in September 1975. This anniversary is undoubtedly a top moment for KNE, for every member and executive of the Organization, who together will give our best to be this year’s Festival worthy of History, of its route, to confirm its title as the country’s greatest political and cultural event.
The KNE and “Guide” Festival is undeniably the largest political and cultural institution of the country and not without reason, because other political youths, no matter how hard they tried, failed to organize something similar. What the Festival does unique, timelessly successful in every era and for every generation is the very character of KNE as a Youth Organization of the KKE, which fights with its Program and strategy for the revolutionary change of the world, based on the worldview of Marxism-Leninism, for socialism-communism. This is the “heart” of the Festival. The youth who do not compromise with capitalist brutality, who dream that they can live better, are inspired at the Festival, because it is a “window to the future”. It is no coincidence that regardless of the starting point from which someone comes to the Festival, they leave “a boy taller”, with competitive upliftment, optimism, hope, a fact that creates the unique pulse that the Festival has.
The KNE Festival – “Guide” is unique precisely because it is part of the KNE identity, it reflects what our Organization is and how it works. The materials with which the “red state” is “built” every year are the values and ideals of the KKE and the KNE, the selfless contribution of the members and friends of the Organization, the camaraderie, collegiality and solidarity, the common action for a purpose. These are what every time make the young people who participate say “now I understand what CNE is”.
This year, the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Festival are intended to be a major political activity for the KNEto contribute so that many more young people who are suffocating in the system of exploitation come into contact with the positions of the KKE around the big issues that make it the pioneer, revolutionary Party of the working class. The Festival has been held for half a century, at the same time as the continuous social and political struggle of the KKE and the KNE. For 50 years now, the Festival highlights the “new”, the society of socialism – communism.
The Festival has been established over the years as a cultural institution, since from the 1st Festival until today the cultural dimension has been a key feature of it. During these 50 years, the Festival has played a role in shaping the cultural heritage of our country, it is part of the Culture of Greece. The Festival’s contribution to the promotion of radical and progressive work, its timeless characteristic of giving a platform to young creators and artists to communicate their workthe diverse cultural program it had from the beginning – with some particularly pioneering moments in its history – are just some of the elements that make it stand out over the years.
That’s his motto 50th KNE Festival – “Guide”, which begins its journey across the country. The program of the Opening Event will include:
- Musical Tribute to artists who have been associated with the 50-year history of the KNE – Odigiti Festivals institution.
- Greetings from Costas Stampolidis, member of the KKE
- Speech by Anastasia Georgiadoumember of the Central Council of the KNE, Secretary of the SP Western Macedonia of the KNE
- The evening will close with a Folk-Rebetiko Feast.
In the area of the Festival, there will be a Bookstore of the Modern Era, the Red Balloon Corner and the Student Festival Corner.
