The students and teachers of the 3rd General High School of Heraklion demonstrated their love for animals and the Kennel of Heraklion in practice by collecting a sum of money allocated for its strengthening.
Specifically, the students and teachers with the amount of money they collected, bought medicine and toys for the animals of the Heraklion Kennel. The action was carried out with the prompting and coordination of the head of the Culture & Volunteering department, Evies Martimianakis with the cooperation of the veterinarian Mrs. Sofia Melidoni and the Deputy Mayors of Volunteering, Deputy Mayor, Filaretis Dafermos – Chronakis and Culture (with responsibilities for the Heraklion Kennel), Deputy Mayor Renas Papadakis-Skalidis).
The material was delivered to the “Manolis Karellis” room in the Androgeo building, where a presentation was also made to the students about philanthropy and the Heraklion Kennel, in the presence of the Deputy Mayors as well as Evie Martimianakis.
The students, who enthusiastically watched the presentation, were given an original “sketch” as a thank you gift.
The Deputy Mayors of Volunteering and Culture thanked the students of the 3rd General High School and their teachers for the sensitivity they showed and the collection of money in order to supply medicine for the Kennel animals.
This act fills us with joy and confidence that the children prescribe a hopeful future and as tomorrow’s responsible citizens they will act with full empathy and guided by love and respect for animals, thus contributing to the cultural upgrading of our society.
