Satellite data from US NASA’s Aqua satellite show high-resolution African dust wave “Minerva red” which took place in the Eastern Mediterranean region affecting Greece to a very large extent.

At the air quality station operated by Meteo.gr/National Observatory of Athens at the Rethymnon City Hall (as part of the Rethymnon Integrated Weather Monitoring System) early Tuesday afternoon values exceeding the 600 micrograms/cubic meter!

African dust: When it subsides
According to meteorologists, the African dust will also bother us on Wednesday and the phenomenon will gradually weaken. Gradually from the morning it will begin to decrease, however, a significant reduction in concentrations is predicted from noon onwards, when it will be limited to the east.

Generally clear weather, but clouds will gradually develop in the northeast and later in the rest of the eastern mainland, the Cyclades and Crete. Local rains will occur in the northeast.
