A total of 67 arrests have been made so far for the murder of a police officer in Renti. One of them was arrested for flares and three for drugs, who are not accused of participating in the criminal organization, like the other 63 arrested who were brought before the prosecutor in the morning.
Under “draconian” security measures, the GADA detention centers were transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office with the voluminous file filed against them, the 67 arrested so far from the Athletic Violence of Attica Security. Three more arrests were made in the evening.
Of all those arrested, four face no charges of membership in the criminal organization (one for flares and three for drugs), like the remaining 63 who are facing this charge and the sub-charges arising from each one’s role.

About 20 of them are considered to be the main defendants as instigators, organizers and “team leaders” of the hooligans and not only for this specific case, but for at least 10 more cases of serious incidents in stadiums such as Volos, even in fights with fans of other teams.
Among this hard core are the people who gave the order and guided the others for the attack on the MAT police officers on December 7, 2023 outside the closed gym of Rentis, which resulted in the fatal injury of the 31-year-old MAT police officer Giorgos Lyggerridis.

The case file that has been filed includes 158 defendants, who, at least since 2019, committed felony and misdemeanor criminal acts and operated mainly in Attiki, Volos and Ioannina.
The case file compiled included testimonies, videos and other findings that demonstrated the existence of a criminal organization behind the attack, while confirming the association of sports violence with organized crime.
House searches and vehicle searches have resulted in the seizure of a variety of items including guns, wooden bats, knives, drugs, clothing, digital media and more.
High-ranking executive of Organized Gate
They are all organized, they all come from a Gate of fanatical fans of the specific group and they have all been “burned” by the amount of evidence that the months-long investigation managed to gather, from statements, results of Forensic Laboratories from the findings of evidence and analysis of video materials from the closed gym, in which faces and movements are recorded, such as exchange of objects, etc.

The results of the telephone connections are also included in the voluminous file filed by Athletic Violence. From the day after the bloody incidents in Rentis, the Sports Violence police officers started the procedures for telephone monitoring of the protagonists who are well-known figures to the Authorities and from other fan conflicts.
Their confidence that they were safe along with their bravado betrayed them as they were recorded having conversations with instructions between them, even going as far as congratulating each other that they had ‘coped it’.
The research sure doesn’t stop here. Among other things, the Investigative Authorities will possibly be asked to look for the origin of the help and information that the leaders of the hooligans received in order to stay safe, until men of Sports Violence identified them, located them and handcuffed them.
