The Metropolitan of Kozani collected things after the uproar: I didn’t say the women…

--

He collected them after the commotion caused by the his sexist statement by the Metropolitan Pavlos of Servia and Kozani, who in his sermon exhorted women to be at home and not to work, while he likened them to sparrows and their children to little birds.

A few hours later, the Metropolitan of Kozani and Servia made a clarifying statement to Mega, referring to what he said about women in his sermon after the service of the Akathistos Hymn at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Agios Nikolaos in Kozani.

“Did I say the woman a skunk? I said that if the skunk leaves her birds, her birds are destroyed. So also the mother, when she abandons her children they become gangs. Don’t these gangs bother you? Don’t you love these children? Mercy now! Be human, we want mothers”. And he added speaking to Mega: “I didn’t say the women were slobs, I said they were mothers, I made an analogy”.

The Metropolitan’s sermon

It is recalled that in his sermon after the service of the Akathistos Hymn at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Agios Nikolaos in Kozani on Friday evening, the Metropolitan mentioned at one point:

“Unless the woman returns to her kingdom which is her home and gathers her little birds under her wings like a sheaf, this is how the children will go about committing crimes against each other. Woman is the most beautiful creature that God made, the most sensitive, overflowing with virtues for motherhood and marriage.”
